Etlira Gjikopulli

Etlira Gjikopulli has been working as a Financial and Administrative Assistant for BIRN Albania since May 2014.

For almost eight years, from 2004 to 2012, she worked as project assistant at the World Health Organization’s Albania office. She had worked on many projects, providing support in administration, coordination, implementation and monitoring, as well assisting in the logistic and financial aspects of office programs.

In BIRN Albania she is responsible for planning and coordinating meetings and events of the organization, organizing and maintaining the filing system, providing project management assistance, as well as providing day-to-day financial and accounting support.

Tanja Maksic

Tanja Maksic has been a member of the BIRN Serbia team since 2010. She develops and manages projects in the field of media policy and good governance.

Tanja also conducts research and is responsible for the design, theme definition and methodology of research, for writing policy reports and recommendations, and for advocacy work. Although she studied journalism, Tanja has specialised in media monitoring, especially content analysis of media production and the media economy. She is particularly involved in advocating the transparent financing of the media.

Tanja graduated from the Faculty of Political Sciences in Belgrade, and before BIRN she worked for the Association of Independent Electronic Media (ANEM) and as an associate of the Media Center Belgrade.

Jelena Veljkovic

Jelena Veljkovic has worked as a journalist since 1992, mostly covering topics of politics, public finance, corruption and war crimes.

She started her journalistic career at Belgrade-based Studio B’s morning show, where she later worked as an editor of the channel’s primetime news programme. During her 20-year journalistic career, she has worked for several media outlets, but spent the longest period at Radio and Television B92, where she worked as news editor, the host and the author of the show Truth, Responsibility, Reconciliation and radio show Kaziprst, and an associate of the investigative journalism TV show Insider. She dealt with issues of corruption as an associate of the government’s council for the fight against corruption, where she worked on the development of a number of reports.

She was the winner of an Independent Association of Journalists of Serbia investigative journalism award as a co-author of the series Secret of the Yellow House, in which she investigated war crimes in Kosovo and Albania and the alleged trafficking of human organs.

She has worked for BIRN Serbia since February 2015.

Deniz Sllovinja

Deniz is a cameraman and video editor for Kallxo.com and the BIRN TV programmes Life in Kosovo and Justice in Kosovo.

Deniz has been working in media production since his youth. Before joining BIRN in 2013, Deniz worked for Foto Canon and Top Kosova TV as a video editor.

Deniz is currently studying communications and production at AAB-RIINVEST University.

Behar Mustafa

Behar Mustafa is a court monitor and researcher working in the Mitrovica region and contributes as a journalist to the TV programme Justice in Kosovo.

Before joining BIRN in 2014, he worked in various NGOs and media outlets, including the daily newspaper Koha Ditore, where he served as Vushtrri correspondent, and Kosova Channel in Mitrovica.

Behar has a BA degree in law and is currently pursuing his Master’s degree.

Durim Shala

Durim Shala is an Assistant Producer / Cameraman and Editor for Life in Kosovo and Justice in Kosovo.

Durim’s main responsibilities are recording and editing videos for Life in Kosovo and Justice in Kosovo TV programmes. Additionally,
Durim records Kosovo Police operations that are shown on the “Police” segment of Justice in Kosovo.

Durim joined BIRN in 2013. He is pursuing his BA degree in Marketing from University of Prishtina.

 

Rrahman Ramaj

Rrahman Ramaj is a financial analyst for BIRN Kosovo.

He monitors public spending by analysing procurement contracts and audit reports of municipalities across Kosovo , and monitoring of procurement offices.

Rrahman, who joined BIRN in 2014, is the co-author of a report on public procurement, titled, ,Hidden Tenders”, published in February 2015.

Rrahman holds a BA in Finance and Accounting from the University of Prishtina, where he is currently pursuing his master’s degree in Management and IT.

Perparim Isufi

Perparim Isufi joined BIRN Kosovo in May 2014 and currently serves as the managing editor of KALLXO.com.

He edits and writes news, analyses and investigations for KALLXO.com and Gazeta Jeta në Kosovvë.

Isufi has been working in journalism for 12 years at several outlets in Kosovo. He also spent more than three years as a Press Assistant at the OSCE Mission in Kosovo, where he maintained contacts with Kosovo media.

He studied political science at the University of Prishtina.

Gjergj Erebara

Gjergj Erebara is journalist for the Balkan Investigative Reporting Network, BIRN, in Albania.

Since 1998 he has worked as a journalist for various print publications, electronic media and televisions. He has a bachelor degree in Journalism and Master of Science degree in Economic History from University of Lund.

Kristina Voko

Kristina Voko is the executive director of BIRN Albania and coordinates the network’s activities, fundraising and projects in the office in Tirana.

For more than ten years she has been engaged in coordinating and managing different projects for national and international organizations, concerning the development of policies, regulatory and legal frameworks; promotion of human rights and social inclusion through the empowerment of individuals and associations; training of professionals and other actors; promotional activities for communities; etc.

During her professional experience she has been involved in project development and planning, management of donor-funded projects and project cycle management for organizations like the Open Society Foundation in Albania, World Health Organization, etc.

Also, she has worked as a consultant for different actors, such as UNDP, UNFPA, UNICEF, Wold Vision, Terre des Hommes and Swiss Cooperation.
