Association of Online Media – AOM

Association of Online Media – AOM was established in 2015 and gathers more than 20 independent digital media outlets.

Its goal is to develop and promote ethical standards of reporting on the Internet as well as strengthening the role of online media in the democratisation of society.

AOM aims to improve the online media and civil society organizations cooperation and to raise citizens and authorities awareness about online media and their role in public information.

Danas

PARTNER
Newspaper Danas is a privately owned media outlet with pro-democratic editorial orientation and high appreciation for professional journalistic standards.

Danas has a long list of international awards, including International Press Institute Media Freedom Award (2002) and the most recently an award of the Austrian Foreign Ministry for Inter-culturalism and tolerance (2015), and is often regarded as the only independent national daily.

Juzne vesti

PARTNER
Juzne vesti is the first regional info portal, which raises the level of awareness of the citizens of southern Serbia and understanding of current issues in this part of the Serbia through the collection and dissemination of information, research and analytical journalism.

Portal Juzne vesti covers news from the cities of Leskovac, Nis, Pirot, Prokuplje, and Vranje.

Istinomer (Truth-O-Meter)

PARTNER
Istinomer (Truth-o-Meter), launched in 2009, is a fact-checking mechanism for monitoring of local and national politicians’ work from accountability and anti-corruption perspective. It was the first project of such type in the region.

Truth-O-Meter allows citizens to assess public officials’ accountability based on what they are saying and promising to their constituents, how much are they consistent in their work and how do they actually perform.

The Independent Journalists’ Association of Serbia (IJAS) is an independent journalists’ organisation.

Novi Sad School of Journalism

Belgrade Centre for Security Policy (BCSP) is an independent think-tank founded in 1997 and dedicated to advancing security of the citizens and society on the basis of democratic principles and respect for human rights.

Media and Reform Center Nis

Founded in 2005, Media and Reform Center Nis (MRCN) takes on the important task – to support the work and visibility of the civil society organisations and media in the region of southern Serbia.

In its work, MRCN stands for freedom of speech and thought; promotion of the rights of minorities; tolerance of different groups in society; promoting the values of an open and democratic society; promoting the values of the European Union in Serbia, including support for the translation of legal documents of the EU and their compliance with local regulations.
