Natalija joined BIRN Hub in October 2014 as a Regional Capacity Building Coordinator.

Previous to this, Natalija was engaged on different donor-funded projects focusing on the implementation of equal opportunities policies in the Republic of Serbia for more than five years, attaining substantial expertise in development assistance. Through this engagement she was ensuring that gender was appropriately integrated into policy development, budget analysis, legislation and other methodologies and approaches through training and technical assistance to the staff of political parties, relevant government institutions, local self-governments, NGOs and women entrepreneurs, enabling women to take a more prominent role as economic, social and political change agents in the country.

Her previous experience also includes delivering trainings and workshops in the area of international human rights law, on anti-discrimination mechanisms and advancing the position of women, coordination of national researches and awareness raising campaigns, and creation and coordination of advocacy plans and monitoring the implementation and impact of gender equality policies through bringing together different stakeholders – government institutions, local self-governments, civil society, media, and academia.

Apart from progressing towards MA degree in international politics at Belgrade University and having successfully attended University of Oslo Master Course in International Development, Natalija holds a MA degree in English Language and Literature.
