The website of the Balkan Fellowship for Journalistic Excellence programme, contains information on the Fellowship itself, participant’ biographies, Selection Committee members, news, and details of the topics addressed by the participants.

Each year a new call for applications is launched on the programme web site, where all the details of the call, including the application form and guidelines, can be found.

The website also serves as the hub for the articles that are produced by the Fellowship participants.

The articles are published on the website in English and in local languages, and the site includes an archive of articles from each year since the programme was launched in 2007.

In addition, the Fellowship Alumni Initiative can be found on the website. The Alumni Initiative is designed to encourage and support continued cooperation between fellows who have participated in the
Fellowship in past years.

This section of the site includes information and articles on the projects undertaken as part of the Alumni Initiative, which include topics such as Turkey and the Balkans and the Roma Decade. Visitors can also find information on the alumni, as well as news and events related to the Initiative.

The Balkan Fellowship for Journalistic Excellence programme was launched in 2007 by BIRN, the Robert Bosch Stiftung and the ERSTE Foundation in order to encourage regional networking among journalists and advance balanced coverage on topics that are central to the region as well as to the European Union.
