International Forum - ’South Serbia: from frozen conflict to sustainable solutions’
09 04 2010 At the occasion of the first anniversary of reconstructed Coordinating Body for South Serbia, BIRN is organising a high profile conference in Belgrade and open up debate on the further development of the region and possibilities for further integration of ethnic Albanians into Serbian state institutions.
The Forum is scheduled for April 14th, 2010, in Belgrade, at the Sava Centar, and is organised under the auspices of the British Embassy in Belgrade and the Balkan Fund for Democracy.
His Excellency, Stephen Wordsworth, UK ambassador to Serbia, Mr. Milan Markovic, Minister for state governance and local self governance of the government of the Republic of Serbia, Mr. Riza Halimi, member of the Parliament of the Republic of Serbia, Vincent Degert, Head of the Delegation of the European Union to Serbia, representatives of the OSCE mission to Serbia and the Embassy of the USA in Serbia will all address the forum.
The aim of this forum is to provide a platform for the participation of all interested parties and allow them to take part in a discussion on the opportunities for fostering stability and development in South Serbia, with particular reference to the work of the Coordinating body of the municipalities of Preševo, Bujanovac and Medvedja and the establishment of a National Minority Council.
