BIRN development and editorial director Gordana Igric together with a
team of English editors have been giving on-the-job production training
to eight journalists from Vojvodina.
The trainees, earlier participants in BIRN Serbia's primary level journalism
course in Novi Sad have produced a series of eight articles ranging from
economic and investment analysis, privatisation to the Hungarian minority's
call for greater autonomy as well as features on domestic violence, leading
municipalities and the birth rate.
Production and editing tips and advice are part of BIRN's comprehensive
training strategy to ensure trainees can produce accurate, timely copy
in line with international standards.
The articles, which will be published on the BIRN and IWPR websites, form
part of BIRN Serbia's Minority and Training project funded by the British
embassy in Belgrade through the UK government's Global Opportunities Fund
(GOF)
