The first phase of BIRN Macedonia’s International Standards Training
and Reporting Project is complete, and the articles produced by its trainees
- students from the School of Journalism at Skopje University - will
shortly be published on BIRN Macedonia`s web page.
The trainees worked in pairs on four different stories, covering different
aspects of the issue of decentralisation. The stories will be published
in Macedonian and Albanian languages, and republished by local media outlets.
The next training phase will start in early 2006, with the recruitment
of a new set of trainees in Tetovo. In the meantime, the Skopje trainees
are preparing a second package of articles as part of their on-the-job
training.
This project is supported by the US Embassy in Skopje, Office of Public
Affairs. For more information, contact BIRN Macedonia Director Ana Petruseva,
