05 01 2007 Starting out as a triumph of international justice, Milosevic's trial ended as its most spectacular failure, says Tatyana Vaksberg, a Bulgarian journalist and Balkan Insight contributor, in her newly published book "Milosevic and the Tribunal".
In her "personal story of an unfinished trial", she seeks an answer to the question is it possible to prosecute a dictator. At the same time, she follows the development of international justice, bringing to light mistakes, but also the courage of international community in its attempts to broaden the application of the rule of law. At the beginning of 2010 BIRN network published Digging Deeper - A Guide for Investigative Journalists in the Balkans, written in cooperation with Sheila Coronel, Director of the Stabile Center for Investigative Journalism and professor of professional practice at Columbia University, New York.
